Annotated Links

The annotated links on these pages should help you get started doing research on many of the issues presented in Rereading America. Selected readings from Rereading America, Fourth Edition, have been paired with links to academic and professionally maintained sites. You'll find them organized by chapter, following the order of the book. Please use the index at left.

A Word of Warning to Students

The following research links reflect our assessment of what will be useful for you as a starting point, but as you'll quickly find, there is a lot of information on the Web. It's important to keep in mind that using the Web is not the same as using the library; anyone with time, inclination, and a message to share can publish online. So, especially with electronic sources, you should evaluate what you're reading with a critical eye, asking yourself, "Who put the site together? Why? How professional does the site look? Is the site itself well documented?" We've already asked these questions of the sites we're suggesting here, but our links to them should not be considered an endorsement of the views contained therein.

For more detailed information about evaluating and documenting sources found on the Web, see Research and Documentation in the Electronic Age.
