If I only have time to visit one or two Web sites to find information about online learning and courses, where should I go?
Is it possible to learn a foreign language online?
Yes, you can learn almost any language online. Here are a few examples of the kinds of sites that offer help:
How do I pay for a credit-bearing online course offered by an accredited school?
That depends on who is offering the course and what arrangements have been made for payment to the sponsoring institution. Some schools treat online courses like traditional courses and accept payment by check or credit card. Other schools have set up tuition schedules that make distinctions between types of students: full- and part-time students, in- and out-of-state students, graduate and undergraduate students, honors and scholarship students, and so on. To find out how a particular school, college, or university requires tuition payment, visit the institution's homepage and look for a link to admissions, tuitions, fees, or a similar topic.
If I only have time to visit one or two Web sites to find information about online learning and courses, where should I go?
That's a difficult question to answer because there are so many good, informative sites available. But since you ask, here are two recommendations:
The Globewide Network Academy (GNA)
This organization promoting distance education maintains a free database of thousands of distance education courses and programs, runs an online distance education bookstore, supports a help-wanted database, and provides databases and mailing lists for online teachers.
Peterson's Education Center: Resources
This site is a clearinghouse for help and information in a wide array of education-related areas.
