BIOGRAPHY
Joan Murray (b. 1945) was born in New York Cityand received a B.A. from Hunter College and an M.A. from New York University. She published her first book of poetry, Egg Tooth, in 1975, which featured her own illustrations. Murray went on to publish five other books of poetry including Looking for the Parade, winner of the 1998 National Poetry Series. She is currently the poet in residence at the New York State Writer's Institute.
