BIOGRAPHY
Thomas Lynch (b. 1948) was born in Detroit, Michigan. In 1973 he graduated from mortuary school, and in 1974 he took over the funeral home in Milford, Michigan, where he has worked ever since. Lynch began writing poetry about his work and in 1987 published the critically acclaimed Skating with Heather Grace. He has published two other volumes of poetry, Grimalkin and Other Poems (1994) and Still Life in Milford (1998), and a collection of essays, The Undertaking: Life Studies from the Dismal Trade (1997).
