FOR EXAMPLE:

The entry should include the following information:

• Author, last name first, followed by a period
• Title of article followed by a period, all in quotation marks
• The title of the journal, underlined or in italics
• Volume number of the journal and, in parentheses, the year of the volume followed by a colon
• Pages on which the article begins and ends

Note: Bibliographic entries usually have periods where footnotes have commas. If you have another entry by the same author, use three hyphens instead of repeating the author’s name. For more extended examples of bibliographic entries, see A Student's Guide to History, eighth edition, pages 133-134.
