Examining the Course Syllabus
The syllabus contains all of the assignments in the course. Read the introduction to the syllabus to find out what the course requirements are, what the course will cover, what the professor hopes to accomplish, and what she or he expects you will learn.
Pay special attention to any long-term assignments that may not be due until later in the semester. Read the description of each assignment carefully. What are your responsibilities? If you have any questions or special concerns, be sure to ask the instructor well in advance of the due date.
