BIOGRAPHY
Nancy Sullivan (b. 1929) Nancy Sullivan was born in Newport, Rhode Island, and earned a B.A. (1951) at Hunter College in New York City and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut (1963). After teaching and administrative work at Brown University (1953–1963), she joined the English Department at Rhode Island College. She has contributed poems and book reviews to numerous journals, including Poetry, Ramparts, The Quarterly Review of Poetry, and the Massachusetts Review. Her first book, The History of the World as Pictures (1965), won the first Annual Devins Memorial Award.
