BIOGRAPHY
Susan Musgrave (b. 1951) Musgrave draws on her experiences in public schools, psychiatric institutions, and maximum security penitentiaries across the country. She has published nineteen books; she is a poet, novelist, children's writer, essayist, book reviewer for the Vancouver Sun, and editor. She lives on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, with Stephen Reid and their two daughters. She travels widely, both in Canada and abroad, to give speeches, writing workshops, and poetry readings. Her most recent books are a poetry collection, Forcing the Narcissus (1994), and a book of personal essays, Musgrave Landing (1994). She has won numerous awards for her writing, culminating in the Presidential Writer in Residence Fellowship at the University of Toronto (1995).
