WritingClass is the first online course space shaped by the needs of developmental students. Loaded with thorough instructional material, engaging activities, and simple writing tools, WritingClass presents assignments in a straightforward interface that helps students see what they’ve done and where they need to go next.
Organized according to Susan Anker's "Four Basics of Writing" and the "Four Most Serious Errors," WritingClass for Real Essays will include online modules to be used in conjunction with the textbook, along with all of the content and tools that make up WritingClass. Each step-by-step module corresponds to a chapter in the textbook and includes: A pared down version of each chapter, integrated with content from VideoCentral, 9 new readings for each of the modes chapters (in addition to the selections from the book) that prompt students to check their comprehension of each reading as well as understanding the rhetorical strategy, which is then reinforced by an essay prompt and an interactive planning form to help get students writing and develop strong drafting skills. For each of the grammar modules, students can practice their grammar skills with a variety of quizzes and exercises – pulled from the book, WritingClass, the Real Essays supplemental exercises – and including LearningCurve.
