As an ongoing project, nationally recognized producer, teacher, and writer Peter Berkow interviews today's authors on reading, writing, and the value of literature. Our growing library of more than 50 video interviews with today's writers include: • Ha Jin on how he uses humor, • Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni on how she writes from experience, and • T.C. Boyle on how he works with language and style.
Authors discuss character, plot, setting, and other elements central to the study of literature, giving students an insiders' view of how writers write.
New! Each video is now supplemented with questions that help students: • respond to authors' comments,
• write in depth about specific concepts and literary works, and
• draw connections among the ideas and works discussed.
These new assignments —a long with autobiographical notes and interview transcripts — make each video an assignable module that students can complete any time.
