Gesa E. Kirsch is professor of English at Bentley University and cofounder of the Women’s Leadership Institute.  Her research and teaching interests include feminism and composition, ethics, qualitative research methodology, archival research, and women’s rhetorical education.  She has written and edited a number of books, among them Beyond the Archives: Research as a Lived Process; Feminism and Composition: A Critical Sourcebook; Ethical Dilemmas in Feminist Research: The Politics of Locations, Interpretation, and Publication; Women Writing the Academy: Audience, Authority, and Transformation; Ethics and Representation in Qualitative Studies of Literacy; Methods and Methodology in Composition Research; and A Sense of Audience in Written Communication.  Currently she is working on a book with Dr. Jacqueline Jones Royster  thatexamines new directions in feminist rhetorical inquiry.  Formerly Associate Executive Director for Higher Education with the National Council of Teachers of English, Urbana, IL, and faculty member at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Director of Women's Studies at University of Oregon, Eugene, and Wayne State University, Detroit.

Faye Spencer Maor currently serves as Communications Coordinator for 1890 Programs at Lincoln University of Missouri. She has taught composition, news writing, photojournalism, and American and African American literature for more than fifteen years on the college level. Currently, she is completing her PhD in Writing Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her interests include the rhetoric of nineteenth-century African American women, the African American press, and issues of race and identity in the composition classroom.

Lance Massey is an assistant professor in Bowling Green State University’s Rhetoric and Writing PhD program.  His research interests include argumentative ethics, disciplinary enculturation, and identity-formation, particularly in relation to writing processes and written texts.  His recent work examines the ethics of academic writing and publishing in light of “mesosocial” identity, treating academic identities as important parts of individuals’ self-conceptions and as worthy of concerns about (meso)social justice.

Lee Nickoson-Massey teaches college writing, theories and applications of written communication, and business writing to international MBA students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has recently published an essay in Practice and Context: Situating the Work of Writing Teachers. She also serves as an assistant editor of College Composition and Communications. Her interests include composition pedagogy and writing program administration. She is currently completing her dissertation in Composition Studies at Illinois State University.

Mary P. Sheridan is an Associate Professor of English and Director of the Composition Program at the University of Wyoming, where she teaches courses on literacy, gender, digital media, and pedagogy. She recently published Design Literacies: Learning and Innovation in the Digital Age (with Jennifer Rowsell) as well as Girls, Feminism, and Grassroots Literacies: Activism in the GirlZone. In addition,  Sheridan and Lee Nickoson are coediting a new methods collection tentatively titled New Directions in Writing Studies Research.
