Need help integrating a handbook into your course?
Teaching with Hacker Handbooks is a collection of resources to accompany all four Hacker handbooks. This 2012 printing has been updated to support the seventh edition of Rules for Writers and the sixth edition of A Pocket Style Manual.
Intended to help both novice and seasoned teachers integrate a handbook into their composition or writing-intensive course, this collection is in three parts.
Part I includes chapters, such as “Designing Effective Assignments” and “Responding to Student Writing,” that address larger teaching concerns. Download Part I: Topics.
Part II offers ten teaching modules, such as “Teaching Students to Integrate Sources and Avoid Plagiarism” and “Teaching Paragraphs,” each including a discussion of common writing challenges, a single assignment or class activity, and a directory to additional resources. Download Part II: Modules.
